Two years after the release of their debut record Houky introduces band Helemese from Kyjov their new record Snyclperkelt. The record which came into being in studio Indies reveals that the band has matured in the previous years. It is apparent from arrangements of songs, coordination of music as well as from the singing of a singer, leader and accordionist Jiri Hilcer. What has not changed is a music style; it could be classified as a combination of pub music, chanson and (trash)folk; a style which evokes sounds of a dancing pub and somehow inevitably seduces to dance.
The accordion, which is a dominant instrument, is accompanied by the violin, guitar and accurate rhythm. In addition, a traditional Moravian bagpipes, gajdy, are used in two of songs; which is an interesting novelty.
The shift is evident in lyrics as well; stories of unknown heroes who found themselves on a slippery slope (Ej, Tono, Lola, Doma je doma) prevailover personal statements. Humorous songs are also included (Snyclperkelt, Nedelej). An ingenious digipack whose main theme is food (as the name of the record Snyclperkelt means a type of a local meal) originates from the workshop of a photographer Petr Drabek.
